“[My family was] living in two rooms – a kitchen and an additional room. The floors were a dried out consistency of dirt and mud. The roof wasn’t so good either. It was pretty old and warped, but the biggest problem was the chimney; it was barely holding together and I think it was ready to fall” said Mihai Baruta. Casa Draga Casa and a volunteer group from Central Michigan Universtiy in America improved the Baruta family’s living conditions by renovating their 3 room dilapidated house into a 5 room home with wooden floors, sturdy walls, and running water.
