Europharm on Habitat worksite

Europharm Distribution employees worked two days on the site of Habitat for Humanity Beius.

24 employees from Distribution Europharm worked Thursday and Friday, June 17 to 18, on the Habitat for Humanity Beius worksite at the volunteer project “To build a healthy life together.”Europharm 2010

Thursday volunteers poured the foundation board Gabor family home, a family composed of five members who live in one room no larger than 15 m2. Friday volunteers worked on the exterior iinsulation at a Day Center for children located in the Ioanis village where Habitat helps completion of the building. There is a partnership with the Caminul Francesco fondation who take care of the children from families in need.

The 24 employees from Europharm Distribution arrived Wednesday evening at Beiuş and even though many had no experience in construction have been happy to come and give a helping hand to someone in need. Early morning they seized and wheelbarrows and shovels and start working.

“I am very glad to see that so many kind people come to help me build the house. After last week  when I worked with a group of Americans with whom I could communicate only by signs because I don’t know English, but now I am looking forward to work with the Romanians to be able to say everything I feel and to transmit their my joy!” says Janos Gabor beneficiary household.

This week, as a news, two volunteer teams from Europharm Distribution work simultaneously in two  corners of the country: in Beius and in Medgidia. “This experience is the best way of uniting colleagues and to strengthen team spirit,” said Laura Shepherd, the team coordinator of volunteers who came to Beius from Cluj, Timisoara and SibiuEuropharm2010_P6170281

The partnership between Europharm Distribution and Habitat for Humanity Romania was completed nationally during June 2009 – November 2010, and the slogan “We build together for a healthy life, Europharm already sent 150 volunteers who have done so far over 2,000 hours of volunteering on construction of housing for disadvantaged families in Craiova (Dolj) Radauti (Suceava), Bălţeşti (Prahova) Oarja (Arges) and Moineşti (Bacau). By the end of the program all employees from Europharm Distribution will contribute with approximately 6,000 hours of volunteer work. In addition, the company will cover construction costs for more houses to be raised until autumn.
