This year, as part of National Volunteer Week, Habitat for Humanity Beius in partnership with ASCO is organizing the IV-edition of the Women’s Build event.
Oradea, 30th April 2009 –Women’s Build is an annual construction event organized by Habitat for Humanity Beius to which strong and energetic women are invited to participate, indifferent to their social status. Construction activities that are considered men’s jobs will be done just by women, demonstrating how easy it is to build a Habitat home. Over 200 Romanian women have participated to date on the Habitat worksite and this year, that number will double.
“The Habitat project helps to develop communities at the level of the municipality of Oradea. Addressed in the first stage are the roma community, the Habitat – ASCO partnership involves and develops the idea of volunteering, an activity which is not that visible at the municipality level. The project is structured in many stages and today it’s time for women to build. ASCO being a Habitat partner, has given an example by mobolizing women from the organization.” declared Adina Madar, ASCO executive director, who participated at the previous Women’s Build.
