Together with the coming of summer have started to arrive the Global Village volunteer groups who help build Habitat houses.
Sunday arrived in Beius 13 volunteers to help build Habitat houses. They are three Canadians, one Australian and nine Americans. Volunteers were not known before to join in the Global Village by the Habitat volunteers recruited from all over the world and chose Beiuş for volunteering.
Monday and Tuesday volunteers poured a foundation that will be built for Gabor family and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have worked to renovate a day care center in the village Ioanis where Habitat is a joint project with the foundation Căminul Francesco.
Thursday evening the volunteers also had a surprise from Habitat. Were invited to a meal and a Transylvanian specific group of children dressed in traditional costumes sang and played the local music. Volunteers were very pleased and appreciated both hidedea (violin with a horn) and doba (drums) that accompanied the soloists.
Saturday, departure, each volunteer received a certificate for the effort they have made in Beius community.
